Mrs. Carter is one of Columbia's rising stars. She has written over 120 poems. She is coauthor of “Potpourri: An Anthology,” written in collaboration with other writers in Columbia Writers Alliance. Mrs. Carter is enjoying the success of her now published her first children’s book entitled “My Grandfather Can Do Anything”. She is married and is the proud parent of one daughter and one granddaughter. Her hobbies are writing poetry, knitting, crocheting, singing, writing jokes and other creative works

I See Love

I see love on the table

looking back at me with those beautiful eyes

She doesn’t ask any questions

or demand anything.

She doesn't ask for money,

sex, or patience.

She doesn’t complain if I can

not pay the rent, the car payment

or take a bath.

I can put her down, or

pick her up she never tells

me no..

I don't see the effect on my

family, friends, or my community.

All I can see those beautiful

eyes looking back at me.
