Diversity

Have you ever wondered how life would be

If God didn’t create diversity?

No different cultures or people to see

That’s not what he wanted the world to be

He made us different from one another

So that we could fit into his big puzzle

He planned this perfect without a mistake

So every piece would fit in just great

Different colored people hand in hand

He spread us all across the land

Diversity is what he said I’ll do

I’ll be me and you be you

Stages 1, 2, 3

Stage 1 is where I’m not concerned

Cause this sister right here

got a lot to learn.

I’m young, cute, nice and small.

Energetic but don’t know it all.

Stage 2:  I got to keep myself in check

keep my mind on the future

and keep my dreams direct.

Stage 3:  I’m doing what I got to do

don’t got it all together, but I got a clue

So now it’s time to step up my game

to get my place in the hall of fame.

Walking down the Street

When you’re walking down the street

You feel so alone

Ain’t nothing but the stop lights and safety zones

I don’t know anybody but the hard concrete

It ain’t so fun walking down the street

People making noises, got a reason to yell

There’s an old man on the corner that’s got fruit to sell

Cars driving fast trying to get to the gas station

Construction men are working to build a new creation

Still walking home from all the drama

Got to do some city talk and gonna tell my mama

That's when you're walking down the street

You only make friends with the hard concrete

Driven
Born to a playa
And a naive girl
Could make or brake you
in t his world

Father dead
And mother in jail
Being raised by grandma
who didn't fare too well

A life of abuse and love
Crying inside because you're a tjug
Forced to be hard because you had to live
Had to grow up too fast, no time to be a kid

Driven to success and a higher road
No time for the corners or the girls you were told
Who was your motivation when your parents weren't it?
Who told you, you could do it better and never forget?

The makings of a failure
The statistics of 21 R.I.P.
But you were made Driven
So that you would never quit

Born to a playa
 and a naive gtirl
Could make or break you
 in this world

Driven to success
In a demanding society
Thug life to the side
Education your priority
The makings of a failure
But you anted more
Than the respect you would get
 from robbing a store

African Pride
My hair is black
My hands are strong
My skin is brown
That's how I belong

My thighs are thick
My hips are wide
My lips are luscious
My African Pride

Who can take my pride from me
by denying my black beauty
By tell me my hair is nappy
And saying I need a perm?

I laugh and smile
'Cause that's my child,
Is something I won't believe
My African Pride
Is too great to hide
And nothing is wrong with me

Say u not lyke them, but how am i suppose to kno

you got yo own style, u own yo own name, and u never let it put u to shame

i keep my distance cause i dont want it to happen again

u say ull never do me lyke he did, with a calm voice and a straight face

u tell me yo deepest and darkest

i just dont kno weather ull repeat the cycle again

Say u not lyke them but how am i suppose to kno
